The Cepu Block Cooperation Agency (BKS) through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme has once again demonstrated its commitment to supporting regional development, particularly in the fields of culture and tourism. This year, BKS distributed CSR assistance in the form of supporting infrastructure development in the Ancient Boat Tourist Site area located in Gayam District, Bojonegoro Regency.
The Ancient Boat Tourist Site is one of the important historical relics that has become the identity of Bojonegoro. The discovery of this centuries-old boat has high archaeological value, while also opening up opportunities for the development of cultural-based educational tourism. Until now, the site area still has limited facilities. Therefore, the construction of supporting infrastructure by BKS is expected to improve visitor comfort while preserving the site.
The Director of PT Sarana Patra Hulu Cepu (SPHC), Barri Pratama, emphasised the importance of supporting the sustainability of cultural sites in Bojonegoro.
"The Ancient Boat Site is not just a tourist destination, but a historical trace that we must preserve together. This support is a form of concern so that cultural heritage is preserved, so that it can be passed on to our children and grandchildren in the future," he said.
In line with this, the Director of PT Blora Patragas Hulu (BPH), Tulus Prasetyono, said that BKS's synergy in supporting cultural sites is part of a commitment to maintaining a balance between industry and culture.
‘We believe that development is not only measured in economic terms, but also in how much we preserve our identity and cultural roots. The Ancient Boat Site is a heritage that can serve as a learning space and a source of pride for the people of Bojonegoro,’ he said.
Meanwhile, President Director of PT Petrogas Jatim Utama Cendana (PJU), Hadi Ismoyo, added that the existence of this site also opens up opportunities for community empowerment.
“With better infrastructure support, the Ancient Boat Site can become a destination that brings a chain of impacts: driving the economy of the surrounding community, opening opportunities for MSMEs, and becoming a means of education for the younger generation. We at BKS are committed to continuing to present sustainable programmes like this," he explained.
Through the joint support of BKS Blok Cepu members, it is hoped that the Ancient Boat Tourism Site will become more widely known and provide social, economic, and cultural benefits. In addition to being a tourist attraction, this site also symbolises that regional development can go hand in hand with the preservation of historical heritage.
